How to Identify and Treat AUD in Primary Care
Join IPHCA for a virtual learning session with subject matter experts sharing best practicing on how to identify and treat alcohol use disorder (AUD) in primary care settings. At the end of this session, learners will be able to:

Screen for and diagnose alcohol use disorder using standardized screening tools and DSM 5 criteria
Gain confidence in determining when it is appropriate and how to manage alcohol withdrawal in the outpatient setting
Increase one’s knowledge of the medications used in the long-term treatment of alcohol use disorder. 

Target audience: Medical, Behavioral Health, and Substance Use Disorder Providers

In support of improving patient care, this activity was planned and implemented by the Illinois Primary Health Care Association and Moses/Weitzman Health System and its Weitzman Institute and is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Additional CE credits are available for dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants/associates, psychologists, registered dietitians, and social workers.
